Death to the Dictator

Channel your rage into your stabby cross stitch needle! This is an original design inspired by the brave women and men fighting for human rights in Iran.

This design is inspired by the lion and sun elements which were present in Iran’s flag since the ancient Persian Safavid dynasty. These elements were removed after the 1979 takeover by the Islamic Republic and are now used as symbols of resistance against the regime.

Underneath the lion’s feet lie blood, grass and tulips. However, this is no ordinary grass! It is wheatgrass. Why wheatgrass, you may ask? During Persian New Year (“Nowruz”) wheatgrass is sprouted and placed on a ceremonial table (“Sofreh”) together with other symbolic items. This is an ancient Zoroastrian tradition still practiced by Iranians today and symbolizes new beginnings.

All proceeds go to charities United4Iran and IranRights. Comes with information sheet on other ways you can help the revolution in Iran
